Yeah..I know it’s Wednesday. But we got rid of cable at the Arpasi household so that we could join a fancy gym with a swimming pool for this baby. So we just got internet up and running. My tip for you today, my friend, is my infamous salad dressing. I make this dressing for basically every salad that I make at home or bring to a party. My husband loves it and most people ask how I make it, so here ya go!
The original recipe was from Martha Stewart and was as follows:
2/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup white wine vinegar
1 T Dijon Mustard
Salt and Pepper
I basically change this recipe around to make it healthier and in my opinion, more yummy!
Okay so I start with Flax Seed oil which I buy from Vitacost. I make it typically for a big salad for my husband and I to split. So I fill about 2/3 of the small bowl I’m using up with the oil. I then add Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) which has a stronger taste than most other vinegars. I eye-ball how much to put in there, a little less than 1/3 part as compared to the flax seed oil. Other vinegars you may want to add more. Just experiment and figure out what you like! Then, I add a squirt of dijon mustard or honey mustard or any brown mustard I have in my fridge. A little salt and pepper and stir!Yummy! Delicious dressing. This is my base dressing. Sometimes I’ll add different things to experiment with the dressing like jam or various sauces. But this is my staple dressing. I love it and so do most people that have had one of my salads! You should try it, but that is just my two cents!
