Today’s tip is for moms who want to take better pictures of their kids. It’s a photography tip just for you! OFF-CENTERING! Center is NOT always better! There is a course a time and place for centering, but that’s for another entry! I’m a mom and so I’m going to show you some pictures that I took just for fun of my favorite subjects, my husband and my daughter. If you’re a mom or a dad or an aunt or uncle or a “pretend” aunt or uncle, find a kid and practice doing this. You may naturally put your subject in the center, but just move the subject over to the right or left a bit and take your photo. Try moving it over just a little bit, try moving it over a lot. There are actually “golden spots” where you can place your subject….but let’s not worry about that. Just experiment a little and see what you like better. There’s a lot of technical stuff of why off-centering makes a better picture, but I will spare you the details. Just give it a try!
