Okay, before I begin I need to apologize for my lack of entries lately. In the past three weeks, I’ve been sick three separate times and have traveled to three different places. We spent 14 hours driving to Alabama for my Aunt Alice’s funeral and drove 14 hours back. Then, shortly after we left for St. Louis for my sister-in-law’s wedding and then Aaron and I went away for our anniversary. Where did we go you ask? Well…that brings me to Jon & Sheree’s wedding. I second shot this wedding with Melissa Manzione Photography. She is wonderful and you should definitely check out her work. Anyways, when I was chatting with Melissa she was telling me about this wedding in Chestertown. I had never been, but went ahead and made the hour and a half drive from Towson. It was a gorgeous drive! I literally did not know that scenes like this existed in Maryland. The drive consisted of little coastal towns, I felt like I was in Maine. I then pulled up to this old historic mansion, Great Oak Manor. Once I did, I knew it was going to be a beautiful day and oh it most definitely was!
Jon & Sheree are seriously the sweetest. Both of them seemed more worried about if I was comfortable than themselves. Their wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Great Oak Manor is a wonderful venue and the details were beautiful. They really thought about their guests and had a ton for them to do during cocktail hour even. I will also say that this wedding came with a story. It was def a first for me…stay tuned!
I snagged these when Melissa was working with the girls & guys and then ran over to capture some of their gorgeous details.
This is what the ceremony site looked like…I mean, seriously? You could not ask for more beauty!
Married! As you can see, there was a storm coming our way! It made for a gorgeous blue background for us though! We grabbed some more pictures before the rain came. Husband and wife <3TSo right as the guests began to dance, we started to hear some thunder…And then….the lights all went out and it started to POUR! The wind was crazy too.
Well, the wind got so bad it blew a ton of decorations down and the managers were worried for the guests’ safety. So we all ran inside the building, literally getting drenched. It was a torrential downpour! But, let me tell you…Sheree and Jon were still so happy and ready to celebrate. There was not one upset person. Once the DJ got set up inside, it was still such a fun time!!
Jon & Sheree…if your wedding is anything like your marriage, I think you are set! You guys totally were able to take an unplanned situation and make the best out of it! Congrats guys and thanks for letting me be a part of your day!
