This wedding is especially dear to my heart because Cari’s sister is one of my very best friends. We’ve known each other since kindergarten and when you know someone that long their family becomes yours. I cannot tell you how special is was for me to be able to be there for Cari’s big day. Cari is funny, independent, and loyal. She has always known who she was even from a young age. I’ve seen Cari date and honestly I don’t think any guy measured up to all she had to offer…that was, until Chris came along. Chris is kind, sweet, and caring and together they are a perfect match. I have never seen Cari as happy in her life than when she is around Chris and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Cari smile as much either. You can just tell that they are right for each other and I’m so glad that Chris continued to fight for her! They have quite the story and I will try to tell you about it throughout this blog. First, Chris and Cari met online and had a great first date. For Chris, he knew right away that Cari was the one. Chris, however, lived pretty far away and things kind of fizzled out. Time went on and Chris could not get out of his head that he had let Cari get away so he wrote her an honest and heartfelt email, explaining how he felt and asking her out to dinner. Little did Chris know that Cari’s mom had recently passed away and her condo had burned down. So this gesture was perfect timing for Cari, to have someone reach out and care for her. From there, everything came together…a proposal on top of a mountain-side in New Hampshire to a ceremony on top of a mountain-side in Maryland…these two are now married! It was such a fun weekend away for everyone to be able to just celebrate Chris and Cari! Congrats guys, hope you like the pictures!!
Cari wore her sister’s wedding dress, which was so special and something I had never seen before. If you’d like to check out her sister’s Jamaican wedding click here.
Cari’s mom’s favorite flower were tiger lilies so she wanted to honor her by having them in her bouquet.Stephanie (Cari’s sister) gave Cari a locket with a picture of her mom as a wedding gift and it was so special that Cari was able to have her mom so close to her heart on her wedding day.The blue ring was her grandmother’s and the red ring was in honor of her mom as well.Chris gave everyone a personalized bottle opener as a present. Zach, the ring bearer, joined us for some photos and I think that he made the pictures was cuter. Hehe!So the weather was pretty crazy and in between the groomsmen portraits and the bridesmaids pictures, it downpoured! But then the sun came out just in time for us to get some pretty pictures of the bridesmaids. The girls “may” have taken some fireball shots before going to the ceremony site. The walk down the aisle was pretty emotional aka I was crying my eyes out behind my camera. Once Cari made it to the front of the aisle, she hugged each one of her mom’s sisters. Each sister whispered encouraging words to Cari and it was just one of the sweetest moments. Cari’s dad walked her down the aisle and also officiated the wedding, which was also a really special touch. The top of the mountain at Wisp Resort made for a gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony!Chris and Cari had the most unique vows I’ve ever seen. So they both wrote their own vows and then Cari’s sister put them together so each said one line at a time. They actually matched and made perfect sense, it was really very sweet! So these next two poses just seem so normal, but they are actually super special because they match the exact same poses from Cari’s parents wedding. So this was the last picture we took before we heard something…and that something was rain! It went from a couple of drops to DOWNPOUR in seconds! It was pretty crazy, but I’m glad we got some pictures on the mountain top before the crazy weather. Luckily, the rain passed and we were able to get some more portraits at the bottom of the mountain. With the rain, came a rainbow!! I spy my girl, Paisley! The fun thing about friends’ weddings is that you can bring your family. DJ White totally rocked the reception. The dance party was so fun!Chris and Cari, congrats guys! SO happy for you all!
