The “G” family
I met Lissa through our MOPS group and she truly is an amazing person. MOPS stands for “Mothers Of Preschoolers” and if you’re interested in joining one or ours (which meets in Laurel), send me an email. It is a beautiful community of women who are going through the same season of motherhood as you. We laugh, craft, cry, and pray together. Lissa contacted me because she had family in from out of town (two sets of uncles/aunts) and wanted to get a full family photo including her kids and parents at her home in Howard county, MD. It was a perfect opportunity for each group to get updated family pics, as well as an extended family picture. Lissa and her husband, Joe, are bio parents to 3 and foster parents to many more. I loved getting the little boy they are fostering in their pictures, but unfortunately I’m not able to share those pictures…so you may see some combinations missing from what I’m going to show you on this blog. Nonetheless, I was so excited to be able to capture their foster baby as well as their family in some photos.
Helping foster families in Maryland
I’ve loved getting to learn about fostering in Maryland. I’ve had many friends who are either currently foster parents or going through the training/process to become one. There is such a need and I look forward to also entering the foster program when my babes are a little older. If you are interested in helping foster parents in your area here are some things you can do…
- Mow their lawn
- Bring them dinner
- Clean their house
- Photographers…take an updated family picture including their foster child
- Take the bio kids out to give them some one on one time
- Bring diapers, bottles, clothes, etc. for new foster babies
- Listen! Ask them how you can help and do it!
- Drop off groceries
Let me know if you’re interested in learning more about fostering and I will connect you with some people that can help! Meanwhile, check out these pics of their sweet family!
