Alex & Kate
Annapolis Courthouse Wedding days have become more and more popular with the pandemic. Weddings are looking a lot different and at the end of the day all that matters is that you do what YOU want to do. A courthouse wedding is an amazing way to celebrate your love for each other. Its personal and special. You can make it exactly how you want it to be.

That is exactly what Alex and Kate did for their wedding day. You may remember these two love birds from their amazing Harpers Ferry proposal! We had such an amazing time that they asked me to come photograph their Annapolis Courthouse Wedding!
Getting ready
We started at the hotel for some getting ready and detail photos. This gorgeous spring bouquet with pastel colors was created by Wildflower Stem and Sundry and it was just gorgeous, the perfect backdrop for these wedding rings.

We had some really special moments during the time Alex & Kate were getting ready. Alex’s mom suddenly passed away right after their proposal. These are her pearls and we used them to wrap the bouquet to remember her. It was emotional and a special touch to their wedding.

Kate’s hair and make up were done by the amazing KC Artistry. After they were done, her mom helped her with the finishing touches and we were out the door for the first glance.

The First Glance
Not going to lie, this was one of my FAVORITE first glances of ALL TIME! It was a super bright day, so we just walked across the street where we could find some shade. This just goes to show you that the background doesn’t even matter. What you notice about these photos is this sweet couple. All of the joy and happiness that this day was here and that they were GETTING MARRIED!! It truly was such a beautiful moment.

Annapolis Courthouse Wedding
Together with their friends and family, Alex and Kate walked to the courthouse for their ceremony appointment. I love getting to take these candid photos. The nerves and excitement were truly tangible. Kate had her brother stand up for her and Alex had his brother stand up for him. Inside the chapel, there are about 5 rows of pews for people to sit and a very short aisle. You can chose to have someone walk you down if you want. Kate and Alex chose to start standing together by the officiant.

The ceremony was beautiful and touching. There were lots of tears. It was perfect and everything anyone could want for your wedding service. After the service, you have to get the classic photo in front of the, “I Love You” sign, this is an iconic Annapolis Courthouse Wedding pic!

Wedding Portraits
After the wedding service and before the reception at Harry Brown’s Restaurant, we went all around Annapolis, MD to get family and couple portraits. Annapolis has so much quaint and picturesque spots. Kate & Alex gave me an entire hour for wedding portraits. So let me tell you we got a little bit of everything. Not pictured is them getting a shot at their favorite bar, ha! So fun! It was perfect and I had so much fun walking around Annapolis with them!

The shot that you need if you get married at the Courthouse! Kissing in front of the building!

Can we just take a minute to recognize Kate’s amazing BHLDN dress?? I mean COME ON!! How perfect is the dress for an Annapolis Courthouse Wedding?
