What should the kids in your wedding wear?
The big question when you have kids in your wedding party….what should they wear? In my 10 years of experience as a Baltimore Wedding Photographer I’ve seen it all! From fancy to casual. Check out these ideas!
Navy & Pink
For this wedding the bride wore gold and the groom wore navy. She chose her grandkids to be the flower girls and ring bearers. The boys wore the cutest brown boots, navy bow tie, navy suspenders and navy paints. The girls wore a pale pink dress down to the floor with a pink bow in their hair. This paired perfectly with their grandmother who was the bride!
Gold
This gold flower girl dress was handmade. The gold tulle skirt is actually removable which is awesome especially for toddler girls. The gold flowers on the dress are magnetic so they are also removable! The sleeve tops are made of lace and are tied. This is such an easy dress that can be made more fancy or less fancy. You can find something similar on Etsy!

Navy & Maroon
This wedding also went with suspenders and bowties for their kiddos! These are a brighter navy/more blue color. The bowties are maroon on the kids and the groom had the same color.. However, the big KICKER (you see what I did there?) are the shoes. Scroll down to see why!!

THESE LIGHT UP SHOES ARE THE COOLEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD!! Not only did the kids love to wear them walking down the aisle, they were a BLAST on the dance floor. Def add light up shoes to the list if you want the kids to have so much fun and cooperate for walking down the aisle!
Pink & White
Pinks and white twirly dresses are very easy to find. You could look in a thrift store or on Amazon and find a perfect flower girl dress for the kids in the wedding! Both of these dresses are tank dresses. The pink dress has layers, tulle, sequins and a wrap ribbon to tie it tight. The white dress has taffeta on the upper layer and tulle on the bottom. Both are adorable and make the perfect flower girl dresses. This bride chose to do two different colors that still matched her wedding party.

Winter Flower Girl Dress
This was a late fall wedding and it did happen to be very cold (and rainy). The bride got this fur for her adorable niece who was also the flower girl! The flower headpiece made the outfit super fancy and matched the bride’s bouquet perfectly. The light pink flower girl dress went down to her ankles and kept her warm despite the weather.

I hope these gave you a ton of ideas for your flower girls and ring bearers. As a wedding photographer who has shot over 400 weddings I have a lot of experience working with kids in weddings. Are you getting married in the DMV? Feel free to shoot me an email!
